For PE at AAO, we work toward kids learning skills, but also having fun. Safety is a significant concern, always. Please remind your child on PE days to wear proper shoes (must stay on their feet, covered toes, rubber bottoms). So please, no crocs, boots, flip flops, etc. On PE days kids are expected to participate to the best of their ability. Expectations are just that they try. Please encourage your child to try their best. We understand all children have off days. When a child tells me their having an off day I ask what percentage can they participate. Then we find an acceptable goal and go from there. In you child has an injury that limits them in some capacity, please contact me via email or send a note with your child. I am a Certified Athletic Trainer and can adapt what we do to be certain your child doesn't hurt themselves or make their concerns worse. Communication is always the easiest to help the children. I encourage them to advocate for themselves too.
